XAVIER THE X-MAN’S® 18TH ANNUAL “CRUISE FOR THE CAUSE” VIRTUAL CAR SHOW

FUNDRAISER FOR THE EMILIO NARES FOUNDATION, HELPING LOCAL KIDS GET TRANSPORTATION FOR CANCER MEDICAL TREATMENTS.

(July 28, 2020 – San Diego, CA) The ongoing pandemic emergency has put an added strain on charity organizations, needing help more than ever. Magic 92.5 (XHRM-FM) radio personality Xavier “The X-Man”® Soriano faced a difficult challenge for his annual Cruise for the Cause car show, which draws thousands of attendees and has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities.  What do you do?

“Fundamentally, car shows are for guys and gals to show off the custom modifications on their cars, trucks, and motorcycles,” said The X-Man. “There is a lot of pride in their work and the more eyes that see their pride and joy, the better. We decided the safest and most interesting way to continue was to put the car show on-line, where everyone in the world can see and participate.

“My 18th Annual Cruise for the Cause will be virtual in 2020. The car show will go on, and I hope to raise money for the Emilio Nares Foundation so they can continue to help the children get to their much-needed cancer services.”

Owners who register in Xavier The X-Man’s® 18th Annual Cruise for the Cause participate by contributing a photo of their vehicle on the virtual Cruise for the Cause hosted on the stations’ website, and are also invited to a ‘slow ride’ drive-thru at Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista, CA, broadcast to the Magic 92.5 audience on Facebook Live.

“As a true town center, we have always prided ourselves in supporting important causes and events and this year is no different.  Although the format is altered for 2020, the mission remains the same and we are pleased to offer participants the opportunity to ’slow ride’ down our beautiful Main Street,” said Otay Ranch Town Center General Manager Tim Kilcourse.

Magic 92.5 and parent company Local Media San Diego have shared messages about the Emilio Nares Foundation and their mission to support children needing safe, reliable transportation to medical treatments, influencing two local companies to support Xavier The X-Man’s Cruise for the Cause with their own contributions.  Mossy Ford Pacific Beach has pledged a one-year lease of a 2020 Ford Transit van to use as transportation, and thru September 30 will match a $25 customer donation for a $50 total donation to ENF. Soapy Joe’s car wash is making a $5,000 donation to the Foundation.

Mossy Ford Pacific Beach General Manager Cole Lowenfield said, “When I heard about the Emilio Nares Foundation and their mission to make sure that every child battling cancer has a safe ride to receive their treatment, I was deeply moved and knew that Mossy Ford could make a difference. Supporting the organizations that make our community better is important to everyone in the Mossy family. The Emilio Nares Foundation is helping the children and families who need it most, and I’m excited we can be part of the solution to their mission.”

Soapy Joe’s Vice President of Marketing Anne Mauler said, “As a local San Diego company we are always looking for ways to participate in the community, and have been inspired by Xavier The X-Man’s efforts for the Emilio Nares Foundation. We are thrilled to join the fundraising team and bring some relief to the families battling with cancer in our community.”
